Career Opportunities is Hiring a Software Developer Near Neenah, WI

The Software Developer is responsible for the design, code, and testing of software programs and applications that enable Agent, Client, and Associate facing technologies and capabilities for SECURA Insurance. This includes researching, designing, documenting, and modifying software specifications throughout the production lifecycle.

This position will be part of a dedicated project team focused entirely on growth in a core business area. The emphasis of this team will be to implement a new suite of insurance software to lay the groundwork for future growth. Specifically, this position will be leaned on to execute the technical vision of this implementation by developing and configuring within Duck Creek’s Policy system.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Develop and/or implement solutions; including designing, developing, configuring and managing within Duck Creek Policy.
  • Analyze, design, program, test, and implement systems to fulfill business needs or problems, utilizing all phases of the system development life cycle (SDLC)
  • Participate in complex assignments and/or department process definition
  • Perform assigned project tasks in a highly interactive team environment while maintaining a productive and positive atmosphere
  • Develop an awareness of programming and design alternatives
  • Identify the impact of technology design changes to assigned work
  • Escalate project issues and risks as necessary along with potential solutions or recommendations
  • Look for opportunities to provide process improvement suggestions
  • Stay current with P&C insurance and industry technology and utilize that knowledge with existing productivity tools, standards, and procedures to contribute to the cost-effective operation of the department and company

QUALIFICATIONS:

ESSENTIAL:

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science or information systems or associates degree with equivalent experience
  • Proven ability to communicate effectively with members of core team
  • Ability to work under pressure to meet deadlines, yet maintain quality work
  • Ability to follow standards, guidelines, and patterns
  • Excellent understanding of coding methods and best practices including object-oriented software architecture/design and service-oriented software architecture/design
  • Experience in the following:
    • Development experience in any object-oriented language, such as .NET or Java
  • Relational database experience
    • SQL Server, DB2, or Oracle
  • Knowledge of source control tools
    • GitHub, Azure DevOps

PREFERRED:

  • Experience using TeamCity or Octopus Deploy
  • Knowledge and experience in the P&C Insurance industry
  • Cloud experience
    • Azure, AWS, or Google
  • Integration Experience
    • SOA experience
    • Enterprise application integration technologies and toolset experience
    • Microservices experience
  • Experience in any of the following
    • Proficiency with DevOps concepts
    • CI/CD pipelines
    • Deployment and test automation
    • Web and Application Frameworks
    • .NET Core, .NET Framework
    • Front-End Web Frameworks
    • React, Vue.js, Blazor
